Tonje and Carl got married on a summer day by the sea in July 2024. I was hired as a second videographer at this wedding — not as primary photographer, but as part of a team. What I’m left with, though, is a day of two people glowing with love for each other, and a crowd that buzzed around them from morning to night.
It was the kind of day where you don’t need to hunt for moments. They come on their own. Best men singing at the top of their lungs during dinner. A couple feeding each other cake and laughing until they shake. Guests who don’t want the day to end.
I worked through tendinitis in my arm that day — not exactly ideal for a videographer — but it’s the sort of thing that fades into the background when the day itself is good enough. Once my video duties were done, I picked up my own camera. It was late summer evening by then, the sun was heading toward the horizon over the sea, and Tonje and Carl walked out across the dunes.
In the hours that followed, I caught a few moments for them — sunset kisses on the beach, cake cutting in the lit marquee, the first dance under hanging fairy lights. Those are the photos you see here. Not a complete document of the day, but a selection from the hours I had a camera in my hand.
Tonje and Carl are a couple you remember — not because anything dramatic happened, but because their day was so obviously full of joy.
Tonje & Carl wrote about the day: “The photos and video are absolutely beautiful and truly capture the atmosphere, the joy and the special moments perfectly. You made us relax and really enjoy the moment, which is reflected in the result.”
